It was an absolutely perfect evening at the Leader Bank Pavilion. The weather was spectacular at this gorgeous outdoor venue that overlooks the Boston Harbor.
Tiger Army started off their set strong with fast punk beats. This was an excellent choice as an opener for the co-headliners: The Interrupters and Flogging Molly. Tiger Army is a traditional psychobilly trio with an electric guitarist, upright bassist and a drummer. Djordje Stijepovic on the upright bass was an amazing sight to see. This is an instrument usually reserved for classical performances, so it was incredible to see Djordje rocking out so hard on this instrument.

Next up were the co-headliners: The Interrupters. Lead singer Aimee Interrupter commanded the attention of the audience with her photogenic smile and infectious energy. The energy continued throughout their 16-song set that included not just their bigger hits, but also covers of songs from the Offspring and Bad Religion. The final song was their smash hit "She's Kerosene" that had everyone on their feet.

Celtic punk rock Flogging Molly knows how to bring the party. The seven-piece ensemble has a fantastic gift of making you feel like you are at the bar singing and having a Guiness with each one of them. Eccentric lead singer Dave King who recently turned 60 years old (but didn't act a day over 25) used the entire Leader Bank Pavilion stage to engage with the audience and showcase his glorious Irish jig. If there is anywhere in the USA where Celtic punk rock is thriving it has to be South Boston, MA.
