Goo Goo Dolls are on tour this summer opening up for Train and featuring special guest Allen Stone. The tour made a recent stop at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. and I had the chance to check it out. To say that this band still brings energy and life to the stage is an understatement.
Goo Goo Dolls took the stage and played a 14 song set that kept the fans dancing, singing and cheering all along. The lineup was a perfect mix of the older and newer hits we all love. Johnny Rzeznik and Robby Takac have a great stage presence that the audience surely relates with. Johnny is hitting notes as good as ever while Robby is still running around stage barefoot and leaping around. When you add an elaborate lighting show to their energy, the fans win!
Backing Johnny and Robby are three solid musicians who need to be acknowledged. Brad Fernquist on guitar, Jim McGorman on keyboards and Craig Macintyre on drums form a tight sound that completes Goo Goo Dolls.
