Motionless in White, Atreyu, and Wilson - 4/27/19 - Madison, WI

In March of 2019 Motionless in White and Atreyu announced a co-headlining spring tour featuring supporting act Wilson, which they called the Spring Invasion Tour. Justifyingly so, massive hitting artists like these guys will be doing nothing but invading unsuspecting cities on this tour.

Saturday, April 27, the invasion was brought in full force to The Sylvee in Madison, Wisconsin. With having a winter weather advisory (at the end of April too, really Wisconsin?), that didn't stop the huge crowd gathering to see the show. The show, which was initially set to start at 8 pm, was moved to begin at 7:30 pm.

Wilson, a band out of Michigan, was first to hit the stage. Their sound was fantastic, and their energy was even better. Out of all of the concerts I've been to, Wilson has to be one of the best supporting acts I've seen to this day. There wasn't a moment where each member of the band wasn't giving their absolute everything. Overhearing patrons in the crowd, not many knew who Wilson was, admittedly, myself included; but there wasn't a single complaint about this artist. Wilson's set lasted around 30 minutes, ending around 8 pm. What came next was by far the fasted set change I have ever witnessed. In just 30 minutes, Atreyu's gear replaced Wilson's on the stage, the sound checks complete, and lights dimmed in anticipation of Atreyu hitting the stage.

When the lights went out, the crowd roared as Atreyu began playing their hit song, "The Time Is Now". I've been a fan of Atreyu for many years, dating back to when I was in high school, but unfortunately, I have never had the chance to see them live. After their performance at The Sylvee, I regret that. Atreyu didn't just perform to perform as their performance was solely for everyone in the crowd to enjoy. The louder the audience, the harder they played. Atreyu performed songs not only from their newest record, In Our Wake, but from almost every album they have which catered to the longtime fans like myself. Their interactions with the audience were top notch, which is terrific to see from any band performing live.

Atreyu's setlist:

The Time Is Now

Right Side of the Bed

Becoming the Bull Ex's and Oh's In Our Wake

Do You Know Who You Are?

You Give Love a Bad Name(Bon Jovi cover)

Nothing Will Ever Change

When Two Are One

Falling Down

Anger Left Behind

Bleeding Mascara

House Of Gold

Lip Gloss and Black

As if Wilson's set change over for Atreyu wasn't fast enough, Atreyu's change over for Motionless in White was even quicker. After a set about an hour long, just 15 minutes later Motionless in White was taking the stage. By the time Motionless in White took the stage, Wilson and Atreyu had the crowd pumped up and ready to go.

The attitude and ferocity Motionless in White came out with was unmatched by any artist throughout the night. They proceeded to melt the face off of the audience with both new and old songs not missing a beat in between. The energy in the crowd could be seen by the number of patrons singing along, crowd surfing, and moshing. Following the trend set by Atreyu earlier in the night, the more energy expelled by the crowd, the harder and louder the band performed. I've seen Motionless in White perform before, and while they put on a fantastic show in the past, they set the new standard for their level of performance on this tour.

Motionless in White's setlist:

Devil's Night

Necessary Evil

Soft

Generation Lost

Loud (Fuck It)

Abigail

570

Everybody Sells Cocaine

Voices

Disguise

Brand New Numb

Contemptress

Immaculate Misconception

Reincarnate

Eternally Yours
