Train - Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT

Train has been headlining a Summer tour that features Goo Goo Dolls and special guest Allen Stone. The tour included a stop at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. and they tore the roof off in front of a sold out crowd with their epic performance.

The 14 song setlist started strong with "Calling All Angels" that featured spark fountains. The stage was floor to ceiling and very impressive. Not slowing down they moved into "50 Ways To Say Goodbye" which had shot confetti cannons into the crowd. And keeping pace, the third song "If It's Love" had front man Patrick Monahan taking selfies and photos on stage with fans cell phones. This crowd was already having an amazing experience.

Not slowing down at all we were treated to "Get To Me" followed by a cover of "Empire State Of Mind" originally by Jay-Z and featured Allen Stone joining them on stage. This moved into "Meet Virginia" which featured an amazing guitar solo by Connecicut's own Luis Maldonado. Also during this moment, Patrick tossed out a generous pile of tee shirts to the audience with the last one having been signed by every member on stage and worn by him.  Not missing a beat, the band next played Tom Petty's "American Girl". The fun just was not slowing.

Train finally slowed the show down performing "When I Look To The Sky" which was written and dedicated to Patrick's Mother.  Fans lit the arena beautifully with cell phone lights. This was followed by another heartfelt song "Marry Me".  Patrick stated he did happen to forget his anniversary though.

The tempo quickly sped back up as they performed Queen's "Under Pressure" next.  I have to say this was simply one epic version and the vocals were as tight as it gets and they did it full justice.  And from here the hits kept coming as they flowed through "Hey, Soul Sister" and "Play That Song".

Patrick and the band decided no one had time for an encore and said they weren't leaving the stage and everyone was ready for more. The band led into another amazing cover of Led Zeppelin's "Heartbreaker" which once again showcased the talent of Luis. The set and night ended with their hit "Drops Of Jupiter".

Without a doubt Train gave the sold out crowd a night to remember. The band is solid musically and vocally. The interaction and energy is top notch.
